Dreams fulfilled and goals achieved!

Even after the tragic reality that I would never pull on the famous yellow of the Glory Hornet Boys and make my debut appearance at Vicarage Road hit home, I have wanted to be involved in football. My career took a more enlightened path as I made my way through an electrician's apprenticeship, became a jobbing Sparky and now employ a team of six electricians – and growing. But now my dream has come true…

Swapping the Hornets for the Harriers

KG Electrical have just become the main shirt sponsor of Harpenden Harriers Under 11s, who are currently flying high in the Mid Herts Rural Minors League – Red Division. As part of the Elite Feet Club, the Under 11s team are looking to light up the league this season and charge each performance with a surge like a power station.

I’m looking forward to getting down to Verulamium Park on a Saturday morning and cheering the lads on as often as possible. The shirts look great and seeing my company's logo emblazoned across the front gives me a warm feeling that I imagine would have been similar to that of making my Watford FC debut.

You can get involved too…

If you are local and, like me, have harboured a passion for being involved in football since you were young, why not come down and cheer them on one week? The lads have gotten off to a great start, winning five out of their first six games, and they are showing no sign of slowing down. Elite Feet run a number of clubs for all ages (boys and girls) so you might even find a space for your little superstar.

My secret hope is that there is a future Hornet in among the players and my claim to fame will one day reach even higher echelons.
